These standards were revised & updated on the
25th April 2011. All torrents uploaded from this date must comply with them. Prior uploads to this date are subject only to the original standards.
S T A N D A R D S F O R A L L T O R R E N T SThese are minimum requirements for uploading on h33t. We encouraged you to pimp your torrents with more than the minimum information.
Failing to respect the standards will result in your torrent uploads being rejected or losing your uploader privileges. So please read them carefully.
The uploads of members with the rank of firebrand are moderated before they are approved to appear on the public index. A moderator will work with you to understand the standards and get your uploads approved and win you a trusted rank.
If you are a trusted rank who ignores the standards you will receive an advisory pm to rectify the bad torrents. Failure to fix the torrent will result in deletion of any below standard torrent. Persistence in ignoring the standards will result in demotion back to firebrand until you prove your commitment to the h33t standards.
All uploads must comply with the following:Never RAR a single video file.
Never use a dot (.) nor underline (_) between words in torrent titles. Leave a space between each word.
Do not use a full url in the title. Your site TAG is good but without the http://
Information cannot be in the title alone (eg. placing bitrate 320mp3 in the title is not good enough) ...
All torrents must include a TEXT description:Pictures replacing text information are not permitted (links break and important information is lost).
You may include pictures in addition to the text (but not as a replacement for the text).
SOFTWARE & GAME must include:- Short description of the contents.
- Version.
- Installation instructions.
MUSIC must include:- Name of artist/publisher.
- Release date.
- Track list.
- File format (eg. mp3, Flac).
- Quality/bitrate (eg. 320Kbps) (not required for Flac/Aiff).
NOTE 1: Do not upload music torrents below 320kbps CBR (VBR is always unacceptable).
There are plenty of sites out there that will accept any quality, we do not, that is the h33t way.
NOTE 1: Flac should include .cue file in the torrent, this is not mandatory but a preferred addition.
VIDEO must include:- Synopsis/plot/about (or link to plot on another site).
- Year of release.
- Format/codec (eg. avi, xvid, h264....etc).
- Resolution + FPS or data-rate (HD category videos can replace with aspect ratio).
- Audio language (if not English).
- Subtitle language (if present).
NOTE 1: Full rips of disks and disk images do not need to show resolution but must include a region code if present.
NOTE 2: HD category must be either a full dvd rip, resolution of 720p or higher, or codec H264 or bluray.
COMICS & BOOKS must include:- A brief description/plot/about.
- Author/Publisher.
- Year release.
- Format (eg Pdf, Chm).
NOTE 1: Issue number is an important description of a comic but may not apply in all cases.
NOTE 2: Book descriptions can be enhanced by including the genre (eg. fiction, non fiction, horror, science etc).
PICTURES must include: - Short text about the theme (eg. animals, landscapes, space, various etc).
- Sample picture.
- Resolution (eg. low, medium, hi-res or pixels).
AUDIO BOOKS must include: - A short description/plot/about.
- Spoken language (if not English).
- File format (eg. mp3, wma).
- Quality/bitrate (eg. 128kbps)
MIXED CATEGORY, FACTUAL & OTHER:Must follow the guidelines of the given section if the file contains video, book, audio or pictures.
ADULT [STRAWBERRY XXX] must include: Video:
- Synopsis/plot/about/cast.
- Format/codec [eg. avi, xvid, h264....etc].
- Resolution.
- RunTime.
Picture:
- About [if any]
- Sample picture.
- Resolution (eg. low, medium, hi-res or pixels).
Book:
- A brief description/plot/about.
- Author/Publisher.
- Year release.
- Format (eg Pdf, Chm).
ADVISORY NOTES (not mandatory)- Pictures improve your descriptions greatly but links break often. Use a trusted image host who never removes pictures eg.
http://imgur.com- Propagate your torrent to other sites as this helps improve the swarm.
- Include your TAG name in the title eg. [miguel].
- Include the description in a text file in the torrent (make the description before you create the torrent).
- Include a link to your home site.
- If you have restricted time to upload then say so in the description.
