Security Alert re PG2.
« on: April 11, 2008, 10:59:01 PM »
There have been some funnies lately updating PG2 files.
If you are a PG2 user it might be worthwhile to check all your blocklists in
PG2 by opening them (listmanager / click on file / click open.

If you use the government list it will be empty, that is normal, these blocks are listed elsewhere.

If any other list shows to be empty ,u got a problem, update right away.

I got an error uploading P2P list and found it was empty. PG2 should use the old list if update fails,
could be a code problem with PG2 ?

ok, thanks ;D i've noticed that to update the lists you need to disable PG2!! not always, which is odd, but often!

It is getting worse. I have not been able to update the P2P list in over  a week. Not an issue
for me as I am in the process of converting to ipfilter and also use "hosts" file for security.
Just using PG2 as a double-check for a while.
Annoying thing is when I try to update PG2 the prog crashes and only recovery is to re-boot.
Anyone else seeing this ?

I know whats wrong. I found if you have block http enabled it will block it's self from updating. It took me awhile to figure it out.

I thought this topic was dead, who revived it ?

Here is an alternative site to get your lists if the built in one doesn't cooperate.
You can add them to your existing lists or replace the existing ones that are playing up.

http://iblocklist.com/lists.php

Be sure to read the warning about "over blocking".

Don't let zero-kill find out about this list or no telling who he will block  ;D
