I think i saw one of my 1st downloads from sYphYn where he
had his info file structured to upload (links to pics, color,size....)
it struck me that if everyone did that there might be fewer
questions from n00bs on how to`s .
If any one had a question on how to.... you could almost answer
by saying "read your downloads" . Grin

I recently changed over from nfo to txt just to (attempt) to cut down on any confusion.  I only had 1 in 75 or so releases ever say "I can't find..." where I had to explain that the information they were looking for was in an nfo file and could be seen in NotePad or even Edlin <grin> if need be.

Thanks for the info.

I just joined today and uploaded 5 items.
I've included 'Instructions and descriptions' in all of them.

And also included extra instruction/help material in the form of links to google searches like this ----->

For more info on boot up sequence, use this link - http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&client=opera&rls=en&hs=dGP&q=edit+boot+sequence&btnG=Search

For a Music torrent, I recommend this Music NFO Builder

Features

* Support for MPEG Audio (MP3), MPEGplus (MPC), Monkey's Audio (APE), Free Lossless Audio Codec (FLAC)
* File info: size, length, bit rate, sample rate, mode, version, layer
* ID3-tags (versions 1.0, 1.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.4), APE-tags, VorbisComment
* Generating nice NFO files, checksums (SFV/MD5), and playlists (M3U, PLS)
* Unicode support
* Multi language support

And then just rename the .nfo to .txt and edit the text file then add your Pic's, headers & footer to the file.

Music nfo builder is very handy and makes very clean descriptions. The only thing is that with version 1.20 the track timings sums and data sums often get screwed up and it gives incorrect sums. I use version 1.18 which I have always found to give accurate results. Anyone noticed similar errors with 1.20?

you can still get version 1.18 here: http://dstats.net/download.php?file=http://nfobuilder.com/files/MusicNFOBuilder118Setup.exe

The only real difference I notice is that it doesn't screw up  Grin  I don't think there's much difference on the interface side. Maybe a tiny bit less pretty.
