Game cannot be started?
« on: August 13, 2009, 03:46:40 AM »
Hello guys, I got a PSP 3000 and I followed the instruction exactly to hack it, but when I run a game downloaded from this site, it says, "the game could not be started (80020321)". However, when I selected the game, the icon changed to thumbnail, and the background also changed, so I thought I was successful, but how could I not load the game successfully? Please help, thanks!

What are you using to unlock homebrew apps on the PSP-3000 chickHEN or a custom Firmware?

First I upgraded the system software to 5.03 from 4.21, then installed chickHEN R2, and then run the CFWEnabler 3.60, it shows 5.03MHU. I also turned off UMD cache and auto-start. I put the game (e.g. HarPoteur.cso) in ISO folder in the root of MS. It's not working. When I run another game (e.g. PSP\GAME\JOJO\EBOOT.PBP), it just shut off. Then I tried the other way, followed instruction to flash 5.03 GEN-A Custom Firmware, still not working. I checked video on Youtube to solve 80020321 error, but when I turned it on by pressing R button and ON button, it turned on regularly then shut off. It has driven me crazy, what should I do next?

Did you try puting the game in the ISO folder? This error does happen when it's not in that folder. If you don't have one create it. So this game is a eboot type game not a ISO or CSO? I know its not one of my games because I only use ISO or CSO since eboot games always have issues.

What game are you trying to play? Is it a PSP game or PSX?

Thanks for your quick reply. I did put the game in ISO folder (F:\ISO\HarPoteur.cso).

I finally got it working for downloaded games, but the problems is, it can only run PSX games, ISO/CSO games still not working with the same error message and code. How could this happen? How can I run ISO/CSO games? Is there a converter which can turn ISO/CSO games into PSX games?

Any money you need to go into the custom firmwares menu and set the iso emulation to something that works, also make sure the game you are trying to load actually runs on the version of firmware you have.

Have This Been Resolved?
Anyway this Happened To me Recently and i solved it by by GOING to the "MHU VSH MENU"
you can can access it when CFW is Loaded thru chickHEN by PRESSING "SELECT BUTTON"
Try to CHANGE the UMD ISO MODE (NORMAL, M33 Driver, Sony NP9669, OE isofs)...
it might NOT work for you but no harm in TRYING, this is how i solve mine...
